RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS
AIR FORCE BOARD FOR CORRECTION OF MILITARY RECORDS

IN THE MATTER OF:	DOCKET NUMBER: BC-2014-00638

		COUNSEL: NONE

		HEARING DESIRED: NO

APPLICANT REQUESTS THAT:

He be paid for the zone “B” multiple of 4.5 Selective
Reenlistment Bonus (SRB) that was available for 3E2X1 career
field when he reentered the Regular Air Force on 17 Jun 09.

APPLICANT CONTENDS THAT:

He has been inquiring on what he needed to do to receive payment
of his SRB for four years.

The applicant’s complete submission, with attachments, is at
Exhibit A.

STATEMENT OF FACTS:

The applicant is currently serving on active duty in the grade
of technical sergeant (TSgt).

On 16 Jun 09, the applicant was discharged from the Air Force
Reserve and immediately reenlisted on 17 Jun 09 (without a break
in service) in the Regular Air Force (RegAF) for four years in
the 3E531 Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC).

The remaining relevant facts pertaining to this application are
contained in the memorandum prepared by the Air Force office of
primary responsibility (OPR), which is attached at Exhibit C.

AIR FORCE EVALUATION:

AFPC/DPSOA recommends approval, indicating there is evidence of
an error or injustice. In accordance with 36-2606, Reenlistment
in the United States Air Force, Reservists on RegAF extended
active duty (EAD) tours may receive an SRB if they reenlist in
the RegAF. They must meet all other eligibility criteria. The
applicant was serving an EAD tour when he immediately reenlisted
in the qualifying AFSC. Since the applicant was in his zone B
SRB window and he was accessed to the RegAF with a 3 skill-level
(skill level is the 4th digit of the AFSC), he was entitled to a
zone B multiple 4.5 SRB.

A complete copy of the AFPC/DPSOA evaluation is at Exhibit C.

APPLICANT'S REVIEW OF AIR FORCE EVALUATION:

A copy of the Air Force evaluation was forwarded to the
applicant on 28 Jul 14 for review and comment within 30 days
(Exhibit D). As of this date, no response has been received by
this office.

THE BOARD CONCLUDES THAT:

1. The applicant has exhausted all remedies provided by
existing law or regulations.

2. The application was timely filed.

3. Sufficient relevant evidence has been presented to
demonstrate the existence of an error or injustice. We took
notice of the applicant's complete submission in judging the
merits of the case and agree with the opinion and recommendation
of the Air Force office of primary responsibility (OPR) and
adopt its rationale as the basis for our conclusion the
applicant has been the victim of an error or injustice.
Therefore, we recommend the applicant's records be corrected as
indicated below.

THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT:

The pertinent military records of the Department of the Air
Force relating to the APPLICANT be corrected to show that he is
entitled to a zone B multiple 4.5 Selective Reenlistment Bonus
for his 17 Jun 09 reenlistment for four years.
